First Week

Week one in California is officially over...and we survived! Much was accomplished, one of which was the securing of our new abode. We feel so blessed to have found a neighborhood with other young families and just two streets over from some of our good friends (although we do miss all of you Traceside-ers!) This week was spent getting reacquainted with old friends and meeting a couple of new ones. The kids have loved being close to their grandparents and we are all looking forward to seeing our San Diego family members. We are hoping that by the end of this week we will be settled into the new house. We have some cute pictures from the plane ride and from our first couple of days, but my camera is currently not cooperating so the ones below (from my cell phone) will have to suffice! I promise to post them soon, though. Hope you all are well...please drop us a line when you have time. Blessings to you.

Arrived Safely...

Hi All!! Well, this is a short and sweet update to let you know that we have arrived safely in southern California. Dan is driving across the Arizona desert as we speak and will be in later tonight. I have pictures and stories to post but we are all exhausted so they will have to wait. Many of you have been asking about our permanent information and I will email that out to everyone as soon as we get all of our ducks in a row (whenever that may be).

So, for those of you in Tennessee: We love you and miss you more than you could possibly imagine! Please come and visit.

Keeping Busy...

Look out world! I have now figured out how to post a video on the blog. Yes, I'm out of control...with this technology there is no stopping me! Today a blog video tomorrow downloading to an ipod!

The following O so cleverly designed video by Savannah and yours truly is a short slide show of what we've been up to over the past two weeks. The four of us have definitely had our hands full getting ready for the big move. Dan is working away out in California while the kiddos and I are here in Nashville tying up loose ends. However, amidst the packing we have found some time for play. We've been hiking, shopping, out for pizza, creating art projects, playing with friends, swimming etc. Today was an exceptionally busy day that was unexpectedly brightened when our door bell rang. We opened the door to see our sweet neighbor with two beautiful 4th of July cupcakes...just for us! From the pictures you will see that Daniel dove right in for the first taste test.

As for logistical details, it looks as though we'll be moving out west somewhere in the middle of July. I'll be sure to post all of our new information as soon as all is finalized!
